Gemstones ABA Therapy Roadmap For Treatment
01
FIRST STEPS
A diagnosis of Autism (F84.0) is required for ABA Therapy. This is something necessary PRIOR to starting the Intake process.
02
INTAKE
Tell us more about your child, your goals, and insurance information. Complete the client application and send a copy of: Diagnostic Report, Insurance Card (front and back) and any other pertinent reports you’d like to share. Your insurance will be verified for coverage of ABA Therapy.
03
AUTHORIZATION
We will obtain authorization from your insurance company for an initial assessment.
04
ASSESSMENT
Once the authorization is approved and all paperwork is submitted, the assigned BCBA will reach out to schedule the initial assessment. The BCBA will work with each client/family to determine strengths, areas of improvement, and desired outcomes from ABA services. Once the initial assessment has been reviewed and signed, it is submitted to your insurance for authorization for services. Once we get approval from the Insurance company, services begin!
05
TREATMENT
Once services begin, we use the authorized hours with the goal of reaching 100% as the service hours are important for the implementation of treatment to the best level we can provide. During treatment, parents will be giving updates regarding progress, goals to work on at home, and other relevant information to the plan of care. The Plan of Care is reviewed and updated during a 6 month authorization period. At the 6 months, an updated plan is submitted to insurance for a new authorization for the recommended therapy hours.
06
DISCHARGE
We may move to discharge a client for the following reasons:
- Discharge will begin when the above client has met criteria of set parameters for that individual client.
- The client can no longer participate in ABA due to factors that prohibit participation.
- Parents determine they no longer want to participate in ABA Therapy.
- Parents are not participating in parent training
- Other service delivery models or services are recommended as a better intervention.
