FALL is almost here!
Fall has always been my favorite season (except I don’t care for pumpkin-spiced things!). It’s a time of change. The leaves falling, the cooler temperatures, and waking up to the darker skies.
The changes can affect our kids in different ways. Some feel like they should snuggle into the dark while others struggle to understand WHY it’s dark in the morning. Some of our kids have sensory issues with the pants that will soon be needed. Bulking up layers from morning to night also may cause discomfort. However, these are all temporary changes that will ebb and flow with each season.
The changes that each child goes through are a celebration of the season of their story, their chapter. They learn something new for the first time or maybe bring back a skill that seemed lost. They share their joy and their challenges with expressions, words, and emotions. They share their pride when they smile, knowing they achieved some small gem.
Change can be hard but it often leads to new growth. We have to work through it to find the value that it brings. Gemstone moments take time. Changes over time bring beauty.
So let’s celebrate the FALL and know that all seasons are a time for change and growth!
